Balmy southern nights, the scent of orange blossoms, white villages, the splendour of blossoms in tropical gardens and, last but not least, a deep blue Mediterranean Sea; this is how we imagine Andalusia in our latitudes and this is how we experience it.
Nestled in the front hills of the Sierra Almijara, not far from the beach and the coast, lies the white village of Sayalonga. Sayalonga is the perfect mixture of easy access to the lively Costa del Sol (approx. 20 minutes by car) and life in the idyllic hinterland. 3 km away you will find the beautiful holiday villa Casa Almendros. Together with some other upscale houses, it is located in the small settlement of Pago Carraspite, which you reach via a path that leads from the village back towards the coast.
The wonderful location of your comfortable and exclusive holiday home (with very upscale deluxe furnishings) in the sierra near the coast - with fantastic panoramic views over the entire Mediterranean and the mountains - combined with the tasteful stylish comfort furnishings make this holiday home so unique. Despite the distance of approx. 4 - 5 km as the crow flies, the Mediterranean Sea is within reach.
The house is equipped with a sustainable solar thermal pool heating system which, with the help of the greenhouse effect of the winter glazing, makes the pool usable in winter. So you don't have to do without swimming while sunbathing here in winter either. The hot water is also produced almost cost-neutrally by heating two solar thermal hot water boilers. Of course, you can also switch on an electric heating system for the domestic hot water on rainy days.
The property offers a large terrace plateau with a ground-level holiday home (111 sqm + conservatory) and a private (approx. 4 x 8 m) pool, which is covered in the low season and invites you to swim most of the year. In summer, the walls and roof of the pool are simply pushed aside to create a normal summer pool.
Your holiday villa has recently been extensively modernised (core renovation) and rebuilt - and very stylishly refurnished.
Casa Almendros has 2 full bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a living room with a fully equipped kitchen. In the round living room there is a loaded fireplace with additional nice heating effect and enough comfortable and stylish seating in an elegant ambience. The two bathrooms are stylishly designed with rain showers etc.. A music system runs throughout the house, you can either choose the programme centrally or per room. All windows have roller blinds.
The spacious sun terrace plateau, the size of the house and the 2 bathrooms make the stay comfortable even with several people.
The winter garden (breakfast place facing east in the morning sun) and the floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows make your holiday a unique and incomparable experience.
Especially in the low season, this holiday villa with underfloor heating, 3 air conditioners, 3 large flat screen TVs (2x 3D) with all German channels etc. is a real highlight in this area.
The large terrace areas are equipped with a seating group under the covered terrace, a seating group in the open areas and 4 sun loungers.

Sayalonga is a pretty, typical Andalusian, village - located only 7-8 km from the lively Costa del Sol, about 10-12 minutes by car to the coast.
Your holiday villa Casa Almendros is located 3 km from Sayalonga and can be reached via a main road that leads from Sayalonga to the settlement of Pago Carraspite. However, as the crow flies, your holiday home is only a little over 4 km from the coast. The Mediterranean Sea is within reach.
Except for only about 900 m of remaining sandy road, the rest of the 3km path from the village to your holiday home is cemented (a bit bumpy, but not too fast well drivable). In these remaining 900 m the path is partly quite bumpy, so that it is slower to drive on these parts. A normal car with reasonable ground clearance is usually sufficient.
It usually takes you no more than 10 minutes to reach the village, or even a little less afterwards. You can shop here in the village, very large supermarkets and shopping centres can be found on the coast one motorway exit further and directly in Algarrobo-Costa.
A rental car is absolutely necessary.

Sayalonga is a picturesque village on a coast whose name alone means 'pure holiday'. The village is one of the typical white villages of Andalusia, a 'pueblo blanco'. Besides a few small shops, you will also find the impressive famous ancient circular cemetery, which you can also visit.
The church and a general tour of the pretty village and a meal in the pretty plaza are also a nearby good tip.
The most frequent visitor to the Costa del Sol is the sun itself. It pampers this Mediterranean coast with its glistening rays on around 320 days a year. But most of the time, a pleasant light sea breeze provides gentle cooling, creating an ideal climate for a sun holiday at almost any time of year.
Besides the cultural-historical aspects, Andalusia also has other faces - endless olive groves and sunflower fields, lagoons populated by flamingos, tempting tropical fruits, sun-baked steppes and, in the middle of it all, the high mountains, the Sierra Nevada. Here in the hinterland, where vineyards and olive groves thrive, almonds, citrus fruits and tropical trees grow, Andalusia is still truly Andalusian.
Picturesque white villages, winding alleys and quaint village pubs, twinkling coastal lights at night, farmers with mules, a herd of goats making their way up the slopes - it all seems like a postcard idyll, but here in the still largely unspoilt 'Campo' it is reality ****
Long sandy beaches can be found directly on the coast of Algarrobo (approx. 20 minutes). Beautiful natural beaches can be reached in about 35 minutes by car from Sayalonga, between Nerja and La Herradura - or even closer in the region behind Almayate, towards Malaga. The wine village of Cómpeta and the wine routes in the hinterland are just a few ways to get to know the real Andalusia. Day trips take you to Seville and Cordoba in 4 and 2.5 hours by car respectively. Between Malaga and Cordoba lies the largest olive-growing area in Europe.
An impressive route to the Sierra Nevada and the Alhambra of Granada takes you over the famous Alpujarras. The route from Marbella via the noble port of Puerto Banus to Ronda with its historic bridge and the oldest bullring in Spain is completely different. Some highlights are also in the immediate vicinity: Nerja's old town, the famous Balcon de Europa and the stalactite caves, the 'Cuevas de Nerja' (approx. 30 minutes by car).
There is an endless variety of hiking trails along the coast and in the vast hinterland. Actually, you can also start hiking right from the front door. A Mecca for joggers, there are flatter routes and for more intensive training also greater inclines - depending on your needs.

Your landlady has lived in Andalusia for 13 years and speaks fluent Spanish. The family employs a house technician who solves any spontaneous problems very promptly and of course takes care of the pool and garden once a week for you free of charge. The German telephone number is a VOIP number (a service for you) with which you call a German number free of charge, but which comes out in Spain.
