Description
For people who are not looking for a luxury villa with a swimming pool and for whom a great location with a wonderful view is worth the effort of walking 100 m along a forest path, our house is just right for them!
The house, designed in a special style, was built in 1936.
Its interiors are individually cut (see floor plan). The house is flooded with light due to a lot of exterior and interior glazing.
The floors consist of rustic wooden floorboards.
There is a large kitchen-living room with two sofa beds and two bedrooms with two beds each. Bathroom and toilet are in one room.
The house has a large front terrace with front garden and a smaller rear terrace, both with fantastic panoramic views.

Location and surroundings of object
The holiday home is surrounded by a pine grove and is located on the historic castle hill "Vigla" of Skala Eressos . Above the house are the remains of a bizantine castle.
The house can only be reached on foot via an approx. 100m long, ascending forest path. The shortest way to the approx. 3km long bathing beach and to the village is approx. 400m
Thanks to its hillside location, the house offers a fantastic panoramic view of the sea, the valley and the mountains of Skala Eressos from its two terraces and its many windows. The main town of Eressos, 4 km inland, can also be seen.
A special feature are also the romantic sunsets that can be observed from the terrace.
The island of Lesbos is located in the north-eastern Aegean Sea and is the third largest island . Because of its mild climate, its varied landscape and its many sights, it is a popular but not overcrowded holiday destination.
Size: 1630 sq km, approx. 85000 inhabitants, length 70 km, width 45 km.
Arrival by plane or ferry to Mytilini.
From there you can take a taxi or bus to Eressos in the western part of the island.
The main town of Eressos is 4km inland. The village of Skala Eressos lies directly on a long sandy beach, which has been awarded the European "Blue Flag" for its cleanliness and purity of the water. The beach promenade is purely pedestrian.
Skala Eressos is nestled in a lush green valley.
Sights of the village are the small museum with ancient early Christian finds and the early Christian bishop's church "Agios Andreas" with its beautiful floor mosaics
On the hillside, very close to the small fishing harbour, lie the remains of the ancient city of Eressos , which is considered the birthplace of the poet Sappho. Many ancient coins with her image have been found here.
Skala Eressos offers a variety of shopping opportunities, there is a rich choice of restaurants for all tastes, as well as the possibility to go dancing.

Wonderful holidays!
We spent a wonderful holiday high above Eressos with a great view of the sea and the valley. The house leaves nothing to be desired, it is beautifully furnished and cosy with everything your heart desires.
The landlords Soula and Hans welcomed us warmly, despite our late arrival. We felt very welcome, thank you for everything.
We will definitely be back.

Dream holiday
An unforgettably beautiful holiday, which became a DREAM HOLIDAY especially because of the location of the beautiful holiday house "Kastro". You should be able to walk reasonably well to manage the short but strenuous climb to the house. But the reward of the unique view over the village and the sea quickly makes you forget the effort. The house offers everything you need. If you have any questions, the exceptionally nice owners are always available. Conclusion: A very special house in a very special place with wonderfully hospitable people on the beautiful island of Lesbos.

Simply ingenious!
We were 3 (1 couple, 1 single, age: 51, 53, 29) in this house for 2 weeks and all of us spent our best holiday there so far!
The brilliantly elevated position allows an incomparable, breathtaking view over Skala Eressos, the sea and the entire surroundings - from sunrise to sunset and there is always a gentle wind blowing, which makes the hot summer temperatures up there really pleasant.
The short stretch of road, which is a bit steep, very quickly became a completely trivial side issue with the special, energetic place up there, which was no restriction at all for us.
The walk from the house to the beach was 5 minutes and back upstairs 10 minutes
The extremely inviting and cosy furnishings allow for real relaxation. Especially if you like to be away from the hustle and bustle of the town centre, as we did
Especially worth mentioning is the friendly and cordial care of the two landlords, who took great care of us before our arrival and especially during our stay.
We cooked for ourselves several times in the evenings, as the small kitchen in the house was well stocked.
We would love to spend our holidays at this special place of power again soon!

Vicinity of the holiday home: Vom Haus zur kleinen Aussichtskapelle, wo der Austieg am westlichen Ende des Strandes beginnt, ist es gut eine Stunde zu Fuß. Mit einem Auto, welches im Ort Skala Eressos gemietet werden kann, sind einige schöne und interessante Plätze leicht und schnell erreichbar.
free time activities: Sehr viele Wassersportangebote am Strand, viele Wanderrouten, verschiedene Bootstouren, etc.
shopping facilities: im Ort von Skala Eressos gibt es sehr viele liebevolle kleine Geschäfte (Schmuck, Kleidung, Keramik, Kunst, Leder, etc. ), sowie mehrere kleine Supermärkte, Bäckereien, Eisdielen

The house and its landlords are a dream! Situated on the slope of the ancient castle hill, you have a wonderful view over the village and the sea from both terraces. Nevertheless, it is only 5 minutes to the beach and the village centre.
Lovingly furnished and well cared for, the house is a dream. A holiday with friends!
