Torrey is a unique pioneer town first established in the 1800's by early Mormon pioneers. It also was a town of notorious western outlaws including Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid in its earlier days, and was often called "Robber's Roost" because towns-folk would offer refuge to these well-liked outlaws. Today, Torrey is an artist's community, as many well-known artists have chosen to live here to enjoy its amazing scenic location, mountain spring water, and clear air!
