galata!place is a spacious and elegant two-bedroom apartment in a lovely historic building in a quiet neighborhood. It has views of Galata Tower and can accommodate up to five guests. We renovated galata!place in July 2009.
Town and location of object
For hundreds of years Galata was a Genoese Colony -in the sense of settlement- and hosted Galata bankers. Today Galata is a bohemian district that attracts artists, writers and intellectuals although most of the inhabitants are ordinary people. It's a real Istanbul neighbourhood with real people!Galata Tower's magic spreads all around Galata district. You can see, feel, touch, taste and hear it every minute you spend in the area. It's easy to guess that Galata Tower witnessed hundreds of incredible events in the history but most remarkable one is the first flying human Hezarfen Ahmet Celebi started his flight from the tower, flew accross the Bosphorus and landed in Uskudar as early as 17th century. Believe or not it's recorded in the Ottoman archieves!
