The Farmhouse is a spacious 4 bedroom property. The master bedroom has a vaulted ceiling and a large en suite shower room. Bedroom 2 is a large double with an antique wooden bed and both bedroom 3 and 4 have full size twin beds.There is a family bathroom with a shower over the bath and a separate wc and basin. On the ground floor there is a kitchen with a gas hob and electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge with a freezer compartment, kettle, toaster, coffee-machine, an iron and ironing board. The large dining room has a table that easily seats 8 people and a large Charentaise fireplace with a woodburner. The spacious lounge has 2 large sofas, tv with some English channels, dvd and a large Charentaise fireplace with woodburner

The house and cottage are enclosed with gardens and pool to the rear (normally open May-Sept) and ample off-road parking to the front. La Chapelle is ideally situated between the market towns of Sauze Vaussais and Chef Boutonne, in a peaceful rural hamlet, truly away from it all, superb for walking and cycling with fields of sunflowers and a wide variety of wildlife. Locally there are some excellent inexpensive restaurants with local specialities. The area has many rivers, lakes, chateaux and Roman churches. The larger towns of Poitiers, Niort and Angouleme, all good for shopping and days out, are all around 40 minutes away. The picturesque Marais Poiteven, the Green Venice of France, with its network of canals ideal for boating and sightseeing is also within easy distance. Over on the coast, around an hours drive away, are the famous Atlantic resorts of La Rochelle, Isle de Re, Royan and the Isle d'Oleran, famed as the prettiest and most traditional resorts with sandy beaches.

The local market town of Sauzé Vaussais is only a 5 minute drive away. There are two supermarkets, a boulangerie, tabac and other shops in the town. Every Thursday morning there is a traditional market where you can buy fresh locally grown produce. For more shopping choices you could go to Ruffec or Poitiers.
